Munich
(Munich 1938; Appeasement was the cry - Munich 1970; Mine to do or die)
They put out the young with so much money to spare,
Have you got some time to lend to me.
I’m pleading ignorance so show me all, take me there,
Before I get lost in my private sea. (Could be “privacy”)
I’d like to join the circus for a round of fun,
I’m very young but willing to learn.
So much life flying back here in your eye,
Something tells me that it’s my turn!
Please don’t turn away, caus’ I’ve got something very clear,
The sun that’s here appears to melt you down. (I think this sounds better!)
I think that I’m involved in musical ideas,
All I know is that it’s slowly killing me.
I’ll drink my wine and you can take my hand,
as long as you are soft and gentle too.
And take it slow I have to feel my way,
intensely into every atmosphere.
Solo
I’ll drink my wine and you can take my hand,
as long as you are soft and gentle too.
And take it slow I have to feel my way,
intensely into every atmosphere.
I suppose that I should leave things well alone, go on home.
I have to tell my mother why I’ve been away so long,
been away so long.
They could not aware, so afraid of how I’d fare.
Now I can at least say “I know cause’ I’ve been there”.
If I am to share your bed, I share your head as well.
Am I reading into this for that is really there?
Do I really care?
Is it just the aura of everything combined,
Clogging up my mind.
Ooh, mitigating circumstance is all you seem to blame.
Though it’s all the same.
Now I can really say “I know cause’ I’ve been there,
know cause’ I’ve been there, I’ve been there!”
